Configure Apache httpd using system-config-httpd
Configure Apache httpd using system-config-httpd graphical configuration tools.
On Fedora system, Apache httpd web server can be configure using the configuration file http.conf or using Apache httpd graphical configuration tool HTTP (system-config-httpd). The step by step below show how you can access and using system-config-httpd configuration tool to configure Apache httpd on Fedora 11 system.
Using system-config-httpd
1. To use system-config-httpd graphical tools you many need to install the system-config-httpd packahges, refer to this Apache httpd installation step if you cant find the Apache configuration tools on the menu.
[root@fedora10 ~]# yum -y system-config-httpd*
[root@fedora10 ~]#
2. Go to the System -> Administration and click on http menu.
3. Key in root password and click on OK button to start system-config-httpd
4. HTTP server configuration, the Main menu tab...

if you click on Add button on Main Apache basic setup screen (Add
new address) you will be able to add new ip address and port for Apache web
server
5. Apache Virtual Hosts configuration tab...
..
you will find Apache Virtual Host Properties, on this screen you will be able to
configure:
1. Virtual Host General Options, Virtual Host Basic Setup, Virtual Host Information, Virtual Host Alias configuration.
2. Virtual Host Page Options, Directory Page Search List and virtual host Error Pages configuration.
3. Virtual Host SSL, Enable SSL support for virtual host configuration.
4. Virtual Host Logging, configure log for virtual host configuration.
5. Virtual Host Environment, configure setting for CGI script configuration.
6. Virtual Host Performance, configure default directory options for ExecCGI, FollowSymLinks, Includes, IncludesNOEXEC, Indexes, MultiViews, SymLinksIfOwnerMatch configuration.
When you click on
button, you will find the default setting for Apache Virtual Host
1. Virtual Host default Page Option setting. On page option tab you can edit default Directory Page Search List and default Error Pages
2. Virtual Host default Logging setting. On this logging screen you can edit the default setting for virtual host Transfer Log and Error Log
3. Virtual Host default Environment setting. On this Environment tab you can edit default setting for CGI script
4. Virtual Host default Performance setting. On this Performance screen you can edit Default Directory Options for Apache Virtual Host.
